The Association institutions
Board of Directors
The Association’s policy is determined by a Board of 12 directors, including the chairman of the Association (Hereinafter – “The Board“). Board members are elected every two years by the Association’s members during the annual general meeting. The Board convenes once a month to discuss the Association’s agenda and essential issues concerning the tourism industry. All of the Board’s decisions are determined by vote of its members, documented in protocols and reported to all Association’s members by e-mail.
The Board members are entitled to ask The Association’s management to hold, if necessary, researches, surveys or to provide it with experts’ opinions, in order to make an informed decision, based on relevant data.
Mr. Kobi Karni acts as Chairman of the Board.

According to The Association’s regulations, The Board’s work is accompanied by several Committees which are:
The Audit Committee
In accordance with the provisions of the Associations Law, 1980, the activity of The Association is under the critic of an Audit Committee.
The Audit Committee includes three members who are elected every two years by the Association’s members during the annual general meeting. The committee members participate as observers in Board meetings, manage 4 reviews per-year on a quarterly basis and advertise their finding to the Association’s members during the annual general meeting.
The Committee of Public Inquiries
The Committee holds a formal procedure for raising any grievance towards Associations’ members, by their clients, regarding the services they received (or failed to receive), quality of said services, etc. The Committee’s services are offered to Associations’ members’ clients free of charge and include either mediation or arbitration – depending on the parties’ wishes.
The Education Committee
The committee’s duties are as followed:
- Providing The Association’s member with professional knowledge and training, offering them seminars in various topics including computer software, branding in the social media, legal issues in labor, aviation and consumer law, executive training etc. furthermore, The Association’s newsletters contains legislative, regulatory and case law updates;
- Endorsing academic and empirical researches in the field of tourism – amongst others, by development scholarships and grants programs for outstanding researchers;
- Promoting entry of a new generation of travel agents to the industry – by implementing professional contents in tourism schools and faculties and by composing a test that those who pass it are entitled to a professional certificate that may ease their entry and integration in the industry.
The Enrolment Committee
The committee accompanies the candidates until the receipt of full membership.
Annual Meeting Committee
The committee is in charge of planning the Annual Conference which includes, amongst others, professional contents, social events, lifetime achievement awards, guided tours, accommodation, etc.
